Migration to National Freegle website

Later this month, Norfolk and Waveney Freegle is moving to a new online system. Don’t worry! It’s still free, run by volunteers and focused on keeping useful things out of landfill. The new system offers several advantages, including easier use on mobile devices and better access to neighbouring Freegle groups.

Our website was created in 2012 as an improvement over the previous system of using Yahoo Groups. Now that all other Freegle UK groups have left Yahoo and are running on a dedicated national system, we feel it is time for us to join them at ilovefreegle.org

ilovefreegle.org uses groups based on towns in order to show Offers and Requests, and you can easily join one or more groups to tailor what is local for you. You can use the site via a browser or the Freegle app.

We will be shutting the Norfolk & Waveney Freegle site on 25th March 2020 with memberships, passwords and current offers/requests/transactions for the past 30 days being transferred over. Everyone will be allocated to a group or groups based on the postcode(s) on their Freegle account.  We will be on hand to answer any questions and help you with the transfer, just email us at norfolkfreegle@norfolkfreegle.org

If you don’t want this to happen then please click the "Opt Out" button in My Settings (at https://norfolkfreegle.org/Account/Settings) before 25th March. Your personal details will be erased from the Norfolk and Waveney system.

Please have a look at this site’s current Terms and Conditions if you wish to check privacy and other concerns. The Terms and Conditions for the national Freegle site are at:

https://www.ilovefreegle.org/terms

We will send out a further Announcement before this change happens. Please don’t try to use the ilovefreegle.org site until after the move - this will help ensure things go as smoothly as possible.

Don’t hesitate to contact us at any time with questions about the move. We are looking forward to Freegling in a new place and really hope you will continue to be part of the family! We believe the new system will help us to increase the number of active Freeglers in our area, keeping even more things out of landfill and helping those who need them.

Warm regards

Beth, Cherie, Jacky, John, Kalvin, Karen, and Katy
